Well, that title might be a little bit of a stretch, but despite the recent lack of sunshine, here at MVMG we always try to look on the bright side! Keeping busy with our winter jobs—especially our build projects—certainly helps keep spirits up and minds focused. This week, we’re delighted to be celebrating the completion of our brand-new pergola, and we think it’s a real beauty (see picture above). It even has a polycarbonate roof, so on those warmer days (when they eventually return!) we can enjoy coffee or lunch outdoors without worrying about the odd passing shower.

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our friends and customers whose generous donations made this project possible. The Tintagel House Trust (of the Sheffield Steiner Group) kindly contributed 50% towards the cost, with the remaining 50% coming from two especially thoughtful customers and friends through their donations in 2025. Not only will our new pergola give us a sheltered space for break times, it will also play an important part in the many social events we hold throughout the year, including our biodynamic spraying events and summer open day. We hope it will be enjoyed for many years to come—and that you’ll get to make use of it too when you next visit us.

Of course, we still have plenty of other jobs to tackle over the next couple of months before spring kicks in and our focus shifts to growing. Many people think we must be quiet during this period, but our to-do list is as long as your arm. As we like to say, there is never a dull moment!
